 Since
the doors of Ballet Russe were opened
in 1984, the school has pursued one
goal: to offer the highest quality
education in the performing arts with
classes purely taught and built on
basic technique.
Dance and the arts are steeped in
tradition and discipline, and are
a great part of the Humanities that
are the backbone of our society. Dance
doesn’t command the place it
should in the education world, but
we’re getting there. If we get
very young people interested in dance,
we can keep the art alive. Education
in the arts is so important. If you
learn something kinetically, you don’t
forget it. This discipline can then
be applied to other areas. Not everyone
has the body for dance. We look away
from that, and we teach as if everyone
is going to be a professional. We
try to get our students to have energy
and passion, since after all, these
should be the happiest years of their
lives! We want students to have wonderful
memories of ballet and dance, to build
lasting friendships, and for this
experience to have really changed
their lives. Whether they are dancing
professionally or just for fun, ballet
training will enable them to explore
their natural love of movement. The
patience, discipline, and determination
learned in the studio can be applied
to all their future endeavors. Since
children want to please their parents
and teachers, they will strive to
obtain that goal. Our students use
the tools they develop in their training
at Ballet Russe to be even better
students academically, as well as
structured and confident individuals.
Our students become physically healthy
and appreciative of the soul and the
beauty of music and the Arts. We wish
them the very best and hope that there
will be many more children who follow
in their footsteps. We want our students
to remember that dancing is a very
solitary experience and remember,
“You’re the one who has
to be in control of your own body”.
Our pledge for the future is to foster
our students’ general well-being
by continuing the traditions, discipline,
consummate training; and bring them
even more worthwhile programs.
We are the lucky ones; for the creation
of beauty through the Arts is the
ultimate in human satisfaction. It
passes on tradition and gives us hope.
