terminology is taught and all classes
are carefully planned to allow the
student to grow to his or her full
potential. Pointe Preparation does
not begin until a girl has reached
the age of eleven or twelve and will
continue for a year or more until
the instructor feels she is ready
for the rigors of pointe work. Classes
are grouped by age and ability level,
from the beginning level 1 through
the Advanced Level. Students are evaluated
each spring for the summer and next
school year sessions. It takes approximately
one year or more to progress from
one level to the next. New students
who have had previous training at
other studios are asked to attend
a placement class.
