Mrs.
REGINA PURIM has been teaching
piano since 1968 and has continued
it in the United States since her
immigration in 1986. Her extensive
teaching experience has helped her
students learn, understand, and
appreciate music. Mrs.Purim’s
expertise is vast and spans student
ages from 4 years old to 70.
Mrs. Purim began her music education
as a child of 6 at Lvov’s
School of Music, Ukraine. After
8 years of studying classical piano,
music theory and literature, she
then was accepted into the Lvov’s
College of Music, which she graduated
with honors in 1966. Mrs. Purim
has received her Master’s
Degree with honors from Donetsk
State Conservatory in 1971. As a
Graduate Student, her teaching talent
was well recognized by her professors,
who in-trusted Regina with their
children’s music education.
Subsequently post graduation from
the conservatory, Mrs. Purim became
a Faculty member at the Khmelnitsky
State College of Music, Ukraine
in 1971. There she taught advanced
Piano and Theory Courses for the
next 15 years. Mrs. Purim’s
accomplishments and rewards were
having her students accepted in
prestigious Music Conservatories
such are Kiev’s Music Conservatory,
Lvov’s Conservatory, Moscow’s
Conservatory and many more.
In 1988, Mrs. Purim became a teacher
at the ‘A & A Music’
Academy in Hoffman Estates. At the
school, Regina has been receiving
numerous recognitions from her students
and there parents. The following
is a quote from one of the letters
that came to the Academy: ‘We
wanted you to know what excellent
teachers Regina and Alex have been
for Bradley and Eric. We feel quite
fortunate that they were able to
work with the boys…’
Furthermore, Mrs. Purim’s
students have participated in a
variety of piano competitions, where
they received Awards and ratings
of “Excellence”.
Besides teaching, Mrs. Purim loves
to play piano for her students and
faculty. She especially enjoys performing
duets with her husband Alexander.
MR.
ALEXANDER PURIM-Piano Teacher
and Concert Piano Performer. He
began playing piano at the age of
six, and graduated from Simpheropol’s
School of Music in Ukraine. Alexander
received his Bachelor’s degree
in Music Education from Simpheropol’s
State College of music in 1966.
Mr. Purim than joined the Donetsk
State Music Conservatory, where
he received his Master’s degree
in Performance and Music Education
with Honors in 1971.
From 1971 to 1986, Mr. Purim was
a faculty member at the Khmelnitcky
State College of Music in Ukraine.
He taught advanced piano and theory
courses. Mr. Purim was also a Chief
of Faculty for the piano section,
and had successfully supervised
over 20 piano instructors. Mr. Purim
was a Chief of the Examination Committee
for the State Competitions as well.
At the same time, Mr. Purim was
successfully performing advanced
classical music as a soloist and
with the Symphony Orchestra at the
Khmelnitcky State Philharmonic.
Since immigration to the United
States in 1986, Mr. Purim has continued
his career as a Classical Music
Soloist. His repertoire spans complex
works of Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin,
and many others. Mr. Purim has also
continued teaching in private practice,
and in 1988, he joint faculty at
the ‘A & A Music’
Academy in Hoffman Estates.
Alexander’s vast experience
allows him to teach the beginners,
as well as advanced students in
classical studies. Mr. Purim is
very successful in his teachings,
which is reflected by his students
participation in numerous piano
competitions, where they receive
various awards. Also, Mr. Purim’s
students have been accepted into
prestigious colleges, such are Julliard
School of Music, DePaul, Yale University,
and other Ivy League schools, where
they continue advanced studies in
music and arts. Mr. Purim’s
students are frequent piano performers
at the Easter Seal Telethon. His
dedication to the excellence of
teaching and performing is greatly
appreciated by all the students
and their parents.
